Auli , uttrakhand, India




Auli is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India. Auli is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand which is 16 km away from Joshimath.







If you are coming from Rishikesh by road to Joshimath it takes around 254.5km so you will be reaching Joshimath in the evening time only so it will be better to take any hotel in Joshimath and wait for next day to visit Auli. If you directly want to visit Auli you have to avail hotel in Auli well in advance so that there is no problem with accommodation.










Auli is well known for its skiing's sport and very popular for its snow fall. Nowadays Uttrakhand government is promoting this place as a writer sports hub many of the national and international winter sports are being organized here. Auli now is projected and being called a world-class destination for skiing and snowboarding.





The  1st South Asian Winter Games in January 2011 were held in Auli. Many youth games and national skiing games are conducted here frequently.

One of the most favorite places in the world for skiing in Auli is because of its slopes.
There are 4 types of slopes
1.10no slope (white slopes)- which is about 900mtrs in length.
2. 8 no slope ( blue )- which is 800mts in length.
3. Temple track ( red) - which is 400 mts length
4. Composite slope- 3.1 km. In length.
Transportation to Auli- from Joshimath there are two types of a transportation system
*Ropeway system
*By cab or car

*Ropeway system-this transportation system is very popular among the tourists as it gives you a fantastic top view of Joshimath and Auli as it gives you an aerial view of the town and lovely scenic view. the last ride from here is 4.20pm from Joshimath and it cost around 1000rs per person round ticket. The total time take in this process is 20-25mint.ticket counter for ropeway is from Joshimath main market.










*Car or cab-if you are not willing to go by ropeway the 2nd option for you is the car which takes around 30mint from Joshimath. Distances between Joshimath and Auli is 16km
.

When you reach here you have to take a very famous wheelchair lift to reach the famous skiing spots. you can enjoy these world-famous lifts .prices for a ticket is 500 RS round ticket.
You can go within walking distance to the famous Auli lake from hereafter.
Season to visit- you can visit here all 3 major seasons

# summer- ( temp- 10 to 18) this is generally from April to June very good place away from hot places going to hill stations is very popular among the north Indians.

#monsoon-(7-15)- it generally starts from July to September., rainfall index is average here. If you are a nature lover and love monsoon and monsoon photography this is the place for you.

# winter (-1to 5 ° c)- this is the peak time to travel here as it is the best place to see snowfall.
